We have a passion for Kids and for Clocks.
All children have a need to understand the passing of time and the structure of the day. Many concepts of time look easy for grown-ups, but are true mind-breakers for children. “How long is an hour?” “When is tomorrow?” “How long until my birthday?”. Research shows that when children understand time better, they feel more secure and in control.
It is hard to understand why society drives children crazy with traditional (and actually very complex) design of clocks and calendars. Analog clocks have been around for 100s of years, and were never designed to help young toddlers to get through their days. Did you know that most children do not learn to tell the time until they are 8 years old? Did you realize children can only start to use normal calendars once they can read?
At It's a Clock!© our mission is to help children and parents to make time easy again to understand. We are inspired by the questions and needs of our children. We are intrigued about how simple and intuitive designs can make a real difference in getting a grasp of things for our children. We hope you will join our drive to make live simple and understandable for even the youngest on our planet.
Noortje van der Loo, CEO and founder It's a Clock!©
More than 50 people work around the world to invent, design and produce our clocks for you. Our engineers develop technical designs from new concepts developed by Noortje. The illustrator produces attractive drawings that children love. The people from marketing ask parents and children what they think of the concepts. The bookkeeper calculates if there is enough money to make the product. The factory makes the shapes of the clocks. The printer produces the packaging. The transporters ensure that the clocks arrive in your country from our production locations and the people of fulfilment help to get the products in the shops…
